POSITION PURPOSE:

Reviews medical record documentation and assigns correct diagnosis and procedure codes to ensure accurate reimbursement for The Nebraska Medical Center.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Degree in Health Information Management preferred. Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Procedural Coder - Hospital (CPC-H) preferred, but required within nine months of employment. Two-years inpatient or outpatient facility coding experience strongly desired.
