To configure, install and support Radiology Picture Archiving and Communication
System (PACS) and Radiology Information System (RIS) workstations, web servers,
archive,
tape library, network hardware, and software that will facilitate communications
in the
form of data and radiographic images. Evaluate, recommend, implement, and maintain hardware
and software technologies associated with PACS and RIS. Perform systems integration and
enhancements to maintain or improve high levels of system performance within the PACS and
RIS. Provide daily support and education of Technologists, Radiologists, Physicians, and
clinical users of the PACS and RIS on a 24 x 7 basis to ensure availability of images
throughout The Nebraska Medical Center and its affiliates.
Bachelor’s degree in IT / associated field, or equivalent experience in the support of
network and system infrastructure. Minimum of three years experience of comparable training
in selection, configuration and installation of network systems preferred. Minimum of three
years experience or comparable training in the configuration, installation and support of
workstation hardware preferred. Minimum of three years experience or comparable training in
the installation and support of workstation based software preferred. Minimum three years
in application implementation related experience preferred. Minimum three years experience
in information systems project management preferred. Ability to successfully analyze,
organize, assign, direct and monitor the work steps of assigned projects. Good verbal and
written communication skills and good interpersonal skills. Knowledge and experience with
computer operating systems including Windows and UNIX.
